ADHD PT Buddies - Physical Therapy Accountability
For lots of folks with ADHD, doing Physical Therapy and other health exercises outside of meeting with our therapist/trainer just doesn't happen. There's never a good time to do it, and never a reason to do it "now". So it doesn't happen.
Make Independent PT workouts feel official
Some people make physical therapy work with coworking or body doubling or a set time. And some still struggle to get it done, even when the outcome is motivating! We want to feel better!
Some of us need a more official feeling way to get physical therapy done or it just doesn't happen. For good or ill, one of the ways to feel more official is to pay money. Even a little bit. Another way to make physical therapy time more official-feeling is set available times that are slightly less flexible than we'd prefer.
So that's why I'm trying out: ADHD PT Buddies
How it works
These are 30m meetings where we are all working on our own physical therapy or exercises (including me!). Declare what you're doing and share victories.
Possible things to have ready:
Tally app to keep track of how many we've done (my pick is this app)
Timer app (countdown, count up, or interval timer, depending on what you need)
Any images, videos, or apps to remember your PT exercises! (Remember we are often highly visual and/or kinetic learners)
This is about accountability to heal and improve our bodies. If you can have your exercises, timers, and or tallies found beforehand, that's great. But no feeling guilty if you didn't! If you need to make/prepare this during the time to be ready to exercise next time, then do it! No guilt.
Important warning: I'm not a physical therapist of any kind. I have zero health and/or fitness training. I'm an ADHD Coach and brain enthusiast here to help people do the things we wish we could do on our own.

Why this pricing for ADHD PT Buddies?
I talked to a few clients about it and tried to price it so that it would be as low as it could be but still be just hard enough to not bail on at the last minute. There is a *significant* discount for members of The ADHD Guild, if that's something you were considering anyway.
If you need a higher price to keep the motivation, don't feel guilty or stupid about it. Motivation is a tricky beast and it's okay to do whatever your brain needs.
Talk to me if you're interested but have concerns-- in any direction. PT follow through for ADHDers is not a solved problem and I'm interested in finding answers. This is one experiment I'm trying along the way and I'm very interested in feedback and suggestions.
